Because I just set up a pop tune on my Grom.

Yes

Bet it still sounds better than most Harleys.

Yes, but I am intrigued and wish to learn more.

Depending how I set it, it can sound like full on anti lag

I’m running a standalone ECU on my grom, the weekend’s new firmware update added a bunch of useful features
and some truly useless ones like ghost cam and backfires. Of course I set it up to sound like a full rally antilag under free rev conditions.

Hard to feel bad when it shoots little fireballs on overrun :)
![]() 09/18/2019 at 15:44 |
|
I can totally get it to throw fireballs reliably now.

I know my old bikes are dialed in when I get a nice little snap crackle pop on decell. Makes my little 175 sound a lot faster than it is.

nice.
Im going to simplify the daytona a LOT this winter. Manual idle adjust. manual CCT. no SAI. no cat. no EXUP valve. No intake flapper
. All in the trash.
get a good tune on it. hoping for the 120HP mark.
from there, carbon fiber stuff will slowly start to happen, along with olhins parts.

Ahh, so keeping it then? ;)

Point your exhaust at the rear tire to help keep it dry and warm for winter commuting!

yea. it rode SO nicely even with shitty tunning on the front, and then just short of astounding with it done right, that I changed my mind. She may be a bit of a bitch to take care of, but like you said, not really much else that comes close.

What is Ghost Cam? I mean I’m already feeling the full on anti-lag sound, but this intrigues me.
![]() 09/18/2019 at 16:03 |

Ghost cam is an ECU tune that wildly fluctuates ignition timing (or sometimes cam phasing)
at idle and approximates the sound of a big lopey cam. It serves no functional purpose.

Yep. That’s terrible.
And I support it.

This is awesome and I love it. Part of why I like the KJet on my Vo is the lumpy ass idle. I’m still pissed I went the cheap route to get it inspected and didn’t get a louder muffler

I want a Grom now just to do a ghost cam and pop tune!!!!

It’s a very small motorcycle, and now it shoots fireballs and makes loud poppy noises because ricer

Im gonna need some videos and what kind of $ I need to invest in one of these.

What tuning are you using to do this? I want it.
Also, yes you are a terrible person, but remember that the world needs bad people. So, as long as you are enjoying yourself, just roll with it.

Well the minimum to do it is an Aracer standalone and a Grom. Videos tomorrow probably

This is a new feature that was just added to the latest firmware update on the standalone ecu I’m running . Company is called “ Aracer”

Interesting, just looked them up. It appears they only work on smaller bikes.

There is hope! They are currently developing an s v650 and Duke 690 ecu. I hope they get into the market, the Grom ecu stands head and shoulders above the garbage tuning available for bikes *cough powerco mmander

Looks like there’s 3 different ways to go about it - The Aracer option is a replacement ECU, Powercommanders are piggy-backs, and there is also reflashing the stock ECU through companies like FTECU or Woolich.
From what I’ve seen on the reflashes, there’s none of the cool / annoying options available, yet. They’re strictly performance driven.

Reflashes are great, but I’ve never been blessed with a bike that had that as an option so have had to go with the other 2 options. Power commander works and makes power, but low throttle is always garbage. Sounds dumb, but you really notice that few milliseconds of latency while the injector signal goes through the second computer.
